Commemorate a loved one at Williamsburg Cemetery’s Tree of Remembrance
The holidays are a time to keep those we love close, including those we have lost. This holiday season, Williamsburg Cemetery invites families to join them at their Dedication Centre on Saturday, December 16 from 2-4 p.m. to enjoy festive treats and commemorate a loved one by placing an ornament on their Tree of Remembrance. The breathtaking 18-foot tree honouring those who have passed is a special way to pay tribute and embodies the spirit of love and togetherness that surrounds the season. Free ornaments will be provided by the cemetery while quantities last but personal ornaments are also welcome.
In addition to the Tree of Remembrance, attendees are also invited to decorate the cemetery’s bare tree with charitable donations of new winter outerwear. The items collected will be donated to St. John's Kitchen and YWCA Mary's Place.
For those unable to visit on December 16th, the Dedication Centre is open to visitors until the end of December, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Anyone visiting during the week is also welcome to place ornaments on the Tree of Remembrance or share donations of new winter wear.
