City of Kitchener summer camp registration opens Tuesday, March 18 for Kitchener residents

The City of Kitchener is excited to offer a variety of fun, affordable, neighbourhood-based camp options for children of all ages and interests this summer from June 30 through August 29 (9 weeks) at its community centres, parks, and recreation facilities. Summer camps are a great way for children to discover new interests, build friendships, and stay active through quality, supervised programming.

New for Kitchener residents! Summer camp registration will be open to Kitchener residents (proof of address may be required) one week before registration opens to non-Kitchener residents.

  • Kitchener residents: Tuesday, March 18 - opens at 8:30 a.m.

  • Non-Kitchener residents: Tuesday, March 25 - opens at 8:30 a.m.

This new approach was introduced in response to growing concerns that Kitchener residents, who are the primary funders of city-operated and taxpayer-supported facilities and programs, have struggled to secure camp spots due to high demand from non-Kitchener residents.

Children ages 4 to 13 will enjoy summer day camp activities including indoor and outdoor play, sports, arts and crafts, quiet and active games, science activities, environment, special guests and more. A variety of camps with weekly themes will be offered all summer:

  • Neighbourhood camps

  • Swim Everyday Camps

  • School’s Out Camp

  • Eco-Camp

  • All About the Arts Camp

  • Skateboarding and Sports Camp

  • The Brain Factory Camp

  • Multisport Camp

  • YOUth Sense (ages 9-14) specialized camp

  • It’s All About YOUth Camp (ages 13-17) specialized camp

  • Junior Golf Half-Day Camp (ages 6-8)

  • Junior Golf Full-Day Camp (ages 9-15)

For all 2025 summer camps, campers must be at least four years old by December 31, 2024. Specific age requirements vary. Some camps also offer before and aftercare to make drop-off and pick-up times more convenient.

Register online through ActiveNET, by calling the registration line at 519-741-2907 or TTY line at 1-866-969-9994. You can also register in person at your local community centre, pool or the City Hall Service Centre

**NEW: Save time on Registration Day

We have a new form available that you can complete in advance of registration day that will make registering your child (up to 18) for camp easier and faster! Complete this form ahead of time and your answers will be saved to automatically populate when you register. This does not register you for the program itself, but it will save you the step of filling out all the forms when you return to register for summer camps.
