City of Kitchener’s fall program registration opens August 12

Back-to-school is just around the corner, which means it’s almost time to register for swimming lessons, city-run and neighbourhood association programs. The City of Kitchener’s fall program registration goes live on Tuesday, August 12 at 8:30 a.m. for Kitchener residents, and August 19 for non-residents.

Preview the programs offered

With recreation, sport, and swim programs for all ages and abilities, Active Kitchener is your complete guide to all the fall programs that the City of Kitchener offers. It’s now available (downloadable pdf) at kitchener.ca/ActiveKitchener. Copies are also available at community centres, pools or Kitchener City Hall. Or, search your favourite programs online using Activenet, the City’s program registration platform at kitchener.ca/Activenet and save items to your wish list in advance of registration day.

The Kitchener Swims program is offered at all pools with options for all swim levels. Know your child’s most recent swim level before you register for swimming lessons. Residents are encouraged to contact their local pool before registration day if they need help selecting a program. Visit kitchener.ca/KitchenerSwims.

Three ways to register

Register online, in person or by calling your neighbourhood community centre or pool. If you’re registering online, you can set up your ActiveNet account in advance, add your favourite programs to your Wish List, and then simply move these to your cart quickly and easily on registration day. Learn more at kitchener.ca/ProgramRegistration.

Language interpretation support

Staff can easily connect you with an interpreter in the language of your choice to help you find the program of your choice.  As part of the City’s commitment to delivering an excellent customer service experience for all citizens, the service is now available in over 200 languages, 24-7 by phone, or in-person at city facilities during business hours.

Need financial support?

If program fees prevent you or a family member from joining a program, you could qualify for a subsidy of $400 in Leisure Access fee assistance per person each year. Apply before registration day at www.kitchener.ca/FeeAssistance.

Need support for a person with a disability?

For individuals with disabilities that may require extra support, the Inclusion Support and Personal Assistance for Leisure (PAL) programs make participation possible. For more information or to apply, visit www.kitchener.ca/inclusion.
