City of Kitchener releases audio walking tours
The City of Kitchener has launched a pair of audio walking tours – the perfect activity to enjoy on a sunny summer day! Explore the architecture and history of downtown Kitchener with audio tours of both the Historical Civic Centre District and the Victoria Park Conservation district. Visit kitchener.ca/walkingtours to explore two of Kitchener’s most iconic neighbourhoods.
Want to stay indoors instead? That’s okay, too! Enjoy the audio recordings and follow along on the tour’s map without stepping outside!
Historical Civic Centre District
Journey through one of Kitchener's oldest neighbourhoods, the Civic Centre Neighbourhood Heritage Conservation District. This walking tour takes you through several streets adorned with large and intricately-designed homes and other buildings that showcase architecture from the late 1800s onwards.
Come along and explore this beautiful heritage district.
Victoria Park and Heritage Conservation District
Victoria Park is a mix of timeless and modern beauty. Nestled in the heart of the city's downtown area, the park still houses many of its original features from back in 1896 when it opened. This walking tour will take you through the park and the surrounding heritage district, filling you in on Kitchener’s early history.
