City of Kitchener invites residents to share their ideas at a community engagement fair

The City of Kitchener is developing a Municipal Newcomer Strategy and invites residents – whether they have recently arrived in Kitchener or have been here for several years - to share their ideas, stories and experiences. Join us for a free interactive evening that will bring residents together to explore shared experiences and ideas of what a thriving future in Kitchener could look like.

Date: Thursday, June 5, 2025

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (arrival and refreshments at 5:15 p.m.)

Location: Kitchener City Hall Rotunda, 200 King Street West

The event will open with a short artistic performance, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session to offer insights, local data and lived stories of the newcomer experience in Kitchener. Attendees will participate in three interactive activities to:

  • Share input into the Municipal Newcomer Strategy

  • Participate in community story weaving

The evening will close with reflections, feedback, and a sense of collective momentum. All are welcome to be part of the gathering. To register, please visit www.engagewr.ca/newcomer

If you are not able to attend, but wish to share your experience with us, you are welcome to participate in these interactive, online engagement activities through to the end of June:
