City of Kitchener honouring longstanding local businesses with Business Heritage Awards
Kitchener, Ontario - The City of Kitchener has launched the nomination period for its Business Heritage Awards, a recognition program that celebrates businesses that have made significant contributions to the city's heritage and economy.
Businesses that have reached milestones of 25, 50, 75, and 100 years of operation are eligible for nomination. The awards are open to all types of businesses including retail, manufacturing, service, small or family-owned businesses and not-for-profit organizations of any size.
The Business Heritage Celebration program, presented by the Kitchener City Council and the City’s Economic Development division, will be held on May 17, 2023.
"Businesses across Kitchener have played a vital role in building and shaping our city, and it is with great pride that we recognize their contributions through the Business Heritage Awards," said Mayor Berry Vrbanovic. "I encourage all eligible businesses to nominate themselves to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to our community."
To nominate a business, fill out the nomination form available on the City of Kitchener's website, or send the completed form to Chloe Howell. Nominations are open until March 31, 2023.
