City of Kitchener extends outdoor pool hours and opens Kiwanis Park pool early
With the current heat warning in effect for Waterloo Region, the City is extending outdoor pool hours and opening Kiwanis Park outdoor pool early to give residents options to stay cool. Hot and humid conditions are expected for most of the week.
Beginning today, the following outdoor city pools will be opening the following extended hours:
Idlewood outdoor pool
5 Thaler Rd., Kitchener
Monday to Friday, 4 to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 8 p.m.
Wilson outdoor pool
78 Wilson Ave., Kitchener
Monday to Friday, 3:30 to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 8 p.m.
The Harry Class outdoor pool at 45 Woodside Ave. is open for public swimming Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 and 5 to 7:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., 2 to 4:15 p.m. and 5 to 7:45 p.m. For a full list of lane swim and other programming visit www.kitchener.ca/harryclass.
Kiwanis outdoor pool at 1000 Kiwanis Park Dr. will open for the season, beginning Friday, June 21. Kiwanis pool will be open daily Monday to Friday from 4:30 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Current extended outdoor pool hours are in effect until Sunday, June 30, and summer hours for outdoor pools take effect Monday, July 1. To stay up to date on outdoor pool hours visit www.kitchener.ca/outdoorpools.
