City of Kitchener declares snow event starting at 2:00 a.m. on December 10, 2025

Kitchener, ON - The City of Kitchener has declared a snow event. Residents have until 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, to remove their parked cars from city streets. This helps ensure our plows and snow clearing equipment are able to effectively and efficiently clear snow from roadways across the city.

The parking ban will remain in effect for 24 hours. Overnight parking exemptions are cancelled to allow for snow clearing.

During a snow event, the City's tag-and-tow process takes effect. Residents are prohibited from parking their cars on city streets at any time when a snow event has been declared by the City. The ticket for parking on the street during a snow event is $100. Vehicles can also be towed if a snow operator is unable to get down a city street and contacts enforcement staff on patrol.

During a snow event, the City activates its Getting Around online map, which shows the roads that have recently been serviced. This map is updated regularly beginning at the time the snow event goes into effect and for 24 hours after it has ended.
