City of Kitchener brings mobile skatepark indoors

The City of Kitchener’s first indoor drop-in skatepark is now open for skateboard enthusiasts of all skill levels to access and enjoy this winter. The indoor skatepark offers participants ages 8 and older a supervised indoor space every Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Queensmount Arena, located at 1260 Queen's Blvd.

The indoor skatepark, a temporary installation, uses the popular summer mobile skatepark features including ramps fly-over box, kicker ramps, grind box, and grind rails. For a sneak peek of the indoor skatepark, check out the City of Kitchener’s Instagram reel.

The cost is $2 per person and registration is not required. Helmets are mandatory and protective elbow and knee pads are recommended. Helmets are available to borrow as well as skateboards and scooters.

The family-friendly indoor skatepark will run through until March 9, 2023, with a holiday closure from Dec. 15 to Jan. 12. Outdoor skateparks at The Aud, McLennan Park and Fischer Park will also remain open through the winter season (weather dependent).
