City of Kitchener and ECU host community Easter egg hunts

Thoughts of Spring have sprung in the City of Kitchener, and it has brought with it a fun new event for local families! The City of Kitchener, in partnership with The ECU – A Division of WFCU Credit Union, is bringing Easter egg hunts to three community centres across the city on Saturday, March 23. The 3 egg hunts will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Kingsdale Community Centre, 11:30 a.m. at the Country Hills Community Centre, and 12:30 p.m. at the Victoria Hills Community Centre.

“I’m thrilled to welcome families to kick off Spring with the thrill of an Easter egg hunt,” said Kitchener Mayor, Berry Vrbanovic. “I always love to see families coming together to celebrate with their community and I’m excited for everyone, along with the Easter Bunny, as they hop their way to a great time at three of our wonderful community centres.”

The bright, festive colours of the Easter Bunny’s hidden eggs will greet families at each location. Children aged 2-10 are invited to join the fun by collecting eggs which can then be exchanged for Easter chocolate and goodies. The Easter Bunny will also be hopping around for a visit.

“We wanted to offer local families a fun activity to participate in that would delight children and provide a memorable experience for all. We’re proud to be a part of this special time of year in Kitchener,” said Eddie Francis, WFCU Credit Union President & CEO.

While the Easter egg hunts are free, space is limited, so parents and guardians are encouraged to register online for either the Kingsdale Community Centre, Country Hills Community Centre, or Victoria Hills Community Centre location to reserve a space for kids who want to participate. The Kingsdale and Country Hills egg hunts will be outdoors and will take place snow, rain or shine, so participants should plan to dress for the weather.
