City facility closures and hours for the Easter long weekend - 2024

Most city facilities have modified hours over the Easter long weekend.

City Hall

Kitchener City Hall will be closed from Friday, March 29, to Monday, April 1. Services normally offered in person will be available again on Tuesday, April 2, at 8:30 a.m.

Kitchener Market

The Food Hall will be open on Friday, March 29, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Kitchener Market is open for the Saturday farmers’ market and Easter programming on Saturday, March 30. Learn more: kitchenermarket.ca/calendar

The Kitchener Market is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Kitchener Public Library

All Kitchener Public Library locations are closed on Friday, March 29, Sunday, March 31, and Monday, April 1.

Kitchener Golf

Doon Valley and Rockway Golf Courses will open for the season in April, weather permitting. Subscribe to kitchenergolf.ca or the Kitchener Golf newsletter, GolfNews, to get an email when we share an opening date.

Pools

City of Kitchener indoor pools are closed on Friday, March 29. Pools will be open on Sunday, March 31, and Monday, April 1.

Community centres

City of Kitchener community centres are closed on Friday, March 29. Most community centres are closed on Sunday, March 31, except for Country Hills, which will be open from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m

Most centres are open on Monday, April 1:

• Bridgeport: open for special event only
• Centreville-Chicopee: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Chandler Mowat: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Country Hills: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Doon Pioneer Park: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Downtown: 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Forest Heights: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Huron: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Kingsdale: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Mill Courtland: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Stanley Park: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Victoria Hills: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Rockway Centre and Williamsburg Community Centre will be closed on Monday, April 1.

The Aud and community arenas

The Kitchener Rangers will open their playoffs against the Erie Otters at The Aud on Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. (game one) and Sunday, March 31, at 2 p.m. (game two). Tickets are available on theaud.ca/Tickets or in person at the box office. Outside of these games, the facility will be open for scheduled rentals.

The Aud box office hours over the long weekend will be:

• Friday, March 29: 4 to 8 p.m.
• Saturday, March 30: closed
• Sunday, March 31: noon to 3 p.m.
• Monday, April 1: closed

The Activa Sportsplex, including the Lyle S. Hallman walking track, will be open from Friday, March 29, to Monday, April 1, 2024.

All other community arenas are open for scheduled rentals only.

Budd Park

Budd Park office will be closed from Friday, March 29, to Monday, April 1.

Budd Park Indoor Field will be open for scheduled rentals from Friday, March 29, to Monday, April 1.
