City facilities have modified hours over the holidays - 2023

City-run facilities will have modified hours during the holidays.

City Hall

Kitchener City Hall offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26; and Monday, Jan. 1 otherwise, customer service at City Hall will be available on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The skating rink at Kitchener City Hall is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather dependent.

The skating rink will have different hours on these days:

• Dec. 25: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Dec. 26: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Dec. 31: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Jan. 1: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Changerooms are available in Carl Zehr Square from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Community centres

All community centres are closed from Dec. 24 to 26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Most community centres will be open regular or modified hours from Dec. 27 to 30, except for Downtown Community Centre, which will be closed from Dec. 27 to 30 for maintenance.

Pools

All city-run pools will be closed from Dec. 24 to 26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Lyle Hallman Pool at Grand River Recreation Complex will be closed from Dec. 24 to Jan. 21 for maintenance.

Kitchener Market

The Kitchener Market will have the following hours:

• Dec. 23: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Dec. 24 to 29: closed
• Dec. 30: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Dec. 31 to Jan. 5: closed
• Jan. 6: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Aud and community arenas

On Dec. 24, The Aud and most community arenas will be closed. Activa Sportsplex, along with the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation walking track, will be open until 11 a.m.

On Dec. 25 and 26, The Aud and all community arenas will be closed. They will reopen for scheduled rentals on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

On Dec. 31, The Aud and most community arenas will be closed. Activa Sportsplex, along with the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation walking track, will be open until 11 a.m.

On Jan. 1, The Aud and community arenas will be closed. They will reopen for rentals on Jan. 2.

Budd Park

Budd Park office will be closed from Dec. 22 to Jan. 2 and will reopen on Jan. 3.

Kitchener Public Library

Kitchener Public Library hours at all community libraries are:

• Dec. 24 to 27: closed
• Dec. 28 to 30: regular hours
• Dec. 31 and Jan. 1: closed
