City facilities have modified hours over the holidays

Kitchener City Hall, arenas, pools, community centres and other facilities will have modified hours during the holidays.

City Hall

Kitchener City Hall offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 26; Tuesday, Dec. 27; and Monday, Jan. 2. Otherwise, customer service at City Hall will be available weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During the holidays, the skate changeroom at Carl Zehr Square will be open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 24, 25 and 26. It will be open 8 a.m. to midnight on Dec. 31 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 1. On other days, the rink is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., weather dependent, and the changeroom is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Kitchener Market

The Kitchener Market will be open Saturday, Dec. 24, from 7 a.m. to noon and then will be closed for the following week. The Market will be open Saturday, Dec. 31, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Aud and community arenas

On Dec. 24, The Aud and most community arenas will be closed. Only the Activa Arena, along with the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation walking track, will be open for scheduled rentals until 11 a.m.

On Dec. 25 and 26, The Aud and all community arenas will be closed. They will reopen for scheduled rentals on Tuesday, Dec.27.

On Dec. 31, The Aud and most community arenas will be closed. Only the Activa Arena, along with the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation walking track, will be open for scheduled rentals until 11 a.m.

On Jan. 1, The Aud and community arenas will be closed. They will reopen for rentals on Jan. 2.

Pools

All indoor pools will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 26, 31 and Jan. 1. In addition, the Lyle Hallman pool will also be closed for maintenance Jan 9-15.

Budd Park

Budd Park and indoor sports facility will be closed Dec. 23 to Jan. 2 and will reopen for scheduled rentals on Jan. 3.

Community centres

Most community centres will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26, 27, 31 as well as Jan. 1 and 2.

Breithaupt Centre will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26, 31 and Jan. 1.

Rockway Centre will be closed Dec. 24 to 31, and Jan. 1 and 2 with the following exceptions for programming:

• Dec. 28: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• Dec. 29: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Dec. 30: 12:30 to 4 p.m.

Community centre hours are available on the city’s website.

Kitchener Public Library

Kitchener Public Library hours at all branches are as follows:

• Dec. 24: Open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Dec. 25, 26, 27: Closed
• Dec. 28, 29, 30: Regular hours
• Dec. 31: Open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Jan. 1 and 2: Closed
