City extends snow event until 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2025

Kitchener, Ontario - A snow event was declared for 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10 based on credible weather forecast information. This snow event has now been extended until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, December 11. This helps ensure our plows and snow clearing equipment are able to effectively and efficiently clear snow from roadways across the city.

During a snow event, the City's tag-and-tow process takes effect. Residents are prohibited from parking their cars on city streets at any time when a snow event has been declared by the City and overnight parking exemptions are cancelled to allow for snow clearing. The ticket for parking on the street during a snow event is $100.  Vehicles can also be towed if a snow operator is unable to get down a city street and contacts enforcement staff on patrol.

During a snow event, the City activates its Getting Around online map, which shows the roads that have recently been serviced. This map is updated regularly beginning at the time the snow event goes into effect and for 24 hours after it has ended.
