Celebrating summer with neighbourhood garden parties

This summer, take in the sights, sounds and smells as you enjoy a stroll in the neighbourhood garden. The City of Kitchener’s Love My Hood Community Garden program and the Kitchener in Bloom garden recognition program are partnering with local community gardeners to host Neighbourhood Garden Parties in some of Kitchener’s most vibrant community gardens. The Neighbourhood Garden Parties celebrate local gardeners’ efforts, growing’ community connections and Kitchener’s garden programs.

Neighbours are invited to join their City Councillor to celebrate summer with a refreshing glass of lemonade and cookies served at scheduled community gardens in neighbourhoods across the city. The free Neighbourhood Garden Parties will take place on Saturdays starting July 12 through September 20. Guests will have a chance to explore the gardens, ask questions, take part in family-friendly garden activities and simply connect with neighbours. All ages are welcome.
