Book of condolences in honour of Queen Elizabeth will be available at Kitchener City Hall

Following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II yesterday, a memorial tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, including a portrait and book of condolences, will be set up at Kitchener City Hall. The book of condolences will be available at City Hall (200 King St. W, Kitchener). Local elected officials will be invited to sign the book of condolences at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12. It will be available to the public for signing beginning at 2 p.m. Those wishing to sign can do so until sunset on the day of the funeral service. The book of condolences will be sent later to the Royal Family.

Flags at City Hall and city facilities have been lowered to half-mast in honour of Queen Elizabeth II. At 96 years old and celebrating her Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years of service this year, Queen Elizabeth II was Britain’s and Canada’s longest-reigning monarch and the world’s oldest monarch.
