Bike over to Pride Ride and other events during our summer of cycling

The warmer weather is here and it’s a great time to get out on your bike! This season is chock-full of community events that will get you out and pedaling!

Pride Ride

Join us for a fun day of cycling and support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community at our fourth annual Pride Ride! It will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, starting in front of the Kitchener Market. Organizers, including the City of Kitchener, Spectrum, Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health and OK2BME will lead riders through some of the newest sections of Downtown Kitchener’s cycling grid.   

Bring your friends, bring your family. Let's ride DTK!

  • Decorate your bike and wear pride colours.

  • Chance to win prizes.

  • Perfect for all ages and abilities.

It’s a great way to have fun while increasing visibility for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Bike Day in DTK

Come celebrate cycling and our vibrant downtown at Bike Day in DTK on Saturday, June 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. on Water Street between King and Charles Streets. The event is for both beginner and experienced cyclists, with activities for all ages and abilities.

The event will feature:

  • Learn to ride sessions for new or beginning cyclists.

  • Family-friendly Bike scavenger hunts.

  • Themed bike rides.

  • Free basic bike tune-ups.

  • Bike safety education.

  • Street party vibe.

  • Prizes!

Bikecheck

Bikecheck is back for the summer event season. It's like a coat check, for your bike! Ride your bike to an event with Bikecheck, hand your bike to one of the attendants and then enjoy the event without having to worry about your bike! All bikes must be picked up no later than 30 minutes after the end of the event.
