Applications now open for the 2025 Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Youth Climate Action Fund
Kitchener, Ontario – Applications are now open for the second round of the Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Youth Climate Action Fund. The fund provides technical assistance and funding to activate tens of thousands of youth aged 15 – 24 years old to design, produce and govern urgent climate solutions in cities across the globe. The first round of funding supported 16 youth-led projects across Kitchener.
Kitchener will receive $100,000 USD to distribute as microgrants, administrated in consultation with GreenHouse, a social impact incubator at the University of Waterloo for youth and community members who want to create impactful ideas and ventures that generate social or environmental change.

Applicants and projects must be:
Led by youth ages 15 to 24
Kitchener-serving and support our climate action priorities
Run by a formally incorporated organization (with a bank account to receive funds) or be a youth-led team partnered with a fiscal sponsor
Complete by Friday, Oct. 31, 2025

Certain types of costs can be covered by the grant, while others are ineligible:
Examples of eligible costs: food costs, transportation costs, materials and equipment, equipment or space rentals, gift cards for participation
Examples of ineligible costs: services covered by existing city initiatives, speaker honorariums, partisan political organizations, political candidates and fundraisers
