Youth video competition premieres online, May 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Winners of the annual Youth Video Competition will be highlighted online tonight at 7:30 p.m. This annual event is presented in partnership with the Kitchener Public Library and the Grand River Film Festival. Youth between the ages of 12 and 25 were invited to submit original short films or animations for a chance to win cash prizes.
This year's compilation video showcases the winning entries from both 2021 and 2022. Honourable mentions will also be featured during the online event. Among the videos submitted were stop-motion animation, sports, comedy, thrillers, adventure and educational videos. The selection panel was impressed by the quality of the shorts films, as well as their creative storytelling.
The winners will be recognized with a screening of the compilation video during the 2022 Grand River Film Festival. The premiere of the winning submissions and honourable mentions will begin at 7:30 p.m. on the City’s YouTube channel. Click here to watch the live premiere.
