Play in the Park returns to more parks this summer
Summer is the perfect time to get outdoors and play. The City of Kitchener is expanding its successful Play in the Park program this year, doubling the number of parks offering this popular summer program.
Last summer's Play in the Park program was very successful, with nearly 2,000 children and families participating in the free program across three Kitchener parks. This summer, it will be offered at six neighbourhood parks including Breithaupt Park, Elmsdale Park, Gzowski Park, Heritage Park, Idlewood Park and Wilson Park.
Play in the Park offers kids the opportunity to move, create, play, and thrive close to home through fun, loosely structured activities, such as outdoor games, sports, and crafts, led by City staff.
Children ages 4 to 12 are encouraged to drop in to Play in the Park weekdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., starting June 29 and continuing through August 28 (no program July 1 or August 3). Parents and guardians are also welcome to attend. This program does not replace parent/guardian supervision.
No registration required; just show up and join the fun (weather permitting).
