New speaker series focusing on business as a force for good

The City of Kitchener, in collaboration with the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre, is hosting a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Speaker Series focused on the contributions of entrepreneurship to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal targets. The theme of the series is business as a force for good.

The first event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Kitchener City Hall (200 King St. W.) as part of Global Goals Week, an annual week of action, awareness and accountability for the Sustainable Development Goals. Registration for this event is now open. To register for this upcoming session, visit kitchener.ca/SDGeventbrite.

Waterloo Region is fortunate to be home to so many organizations that support entrepreneurs focused on social, environmental and economic innovation. In this session, a panel of business owners will share insights into how innovation can be used to solve sustainability challenges.

Over the course of the year, the City and community partners will invite speakers to present topics related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as part of an eighteen-part speaker series. Topics for future sessions will be announced closer to the session dates.
