Kitchener wants your feedback on our upcoming Affordable Housing Community Improvement Plan
The City of Kitchener is working on a new Affordable Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to help create more housing that people with different incomes can afford by providing incentives to unlock more units. This plan is supported by the federal Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF), which aims to increase housing supply and build inclusive, diverse communities.
To develop the plan, we are evaluating various initiatives to determine which ones will have the greatest long-term impact on housing affordability and availability. We’ve set up an Engage Kitchener page with additional information on how you can get involved – subscribe to the page to be notified about upcoming opportunities like:
An in-person session for all members of the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Kitchener Market. You can find staff at the mezzanine. Learn more about the CIP and have your questions answered.
A virtual open house for all members of the public from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. This is another opportunity to learn more and have your questions answered.
Learn more and subscribe for updates as the plan develops on our Engage page.
