Kitchener to host Big Wreck, Default as part of free Wayback Festival
Get ready to rock, Kitchener! Wayback Festival returns to Downtown Kitchener with two days of free concerts from Canadian rock legends Big Wreck and Default, as well as up-and-coming artists and tribute favourites in a hit-packed festival:
Friday, July 25
7 – 8 p.m. – AC/DC tribute by Thunderstruck, North America’s #1 tribute to AC/DC.
9 – 10:30 – KISS tribute by Destroyer will recreate the energy, powerhouse vocals and raw performance of a 70’s era KISS show.
Saturday, July 26
4 – 5:30 p.m. – Always On Friday, one of Kitchener’s favourite local cover bands.
6 – 7 p.m. – Conor Gains will showcase his iconic mix of classic soul, modern R&B, psychedelic southern pop-rock and jazz.
7:30 – 8:30 p.m. – Default brings hard rock, post grunge and alternative rock sounds that celebrate their 25+ year career.
9 – 10:30 p.m. – Big Wreck headlines the show, performing their hits like That Song, Albatross and Ghosts.
The festival grounds feature a licensed area from Young to College Street with cold drinks and a variety of local food trucks serving everything from tacos to BBQ to sweet treats. Downtown restaurants and patios will also be open for a meal under the summer skies.
