Kitchener Takes the Stage line-up highlights breakout local talent

Announced during Mayor Vrbanovic’s 2025 State of the City address, Kitchener Takes the Stage is a live music showcase and the official launch of Kitchener LIVE, a new one-stop digital destination for residents and visitors looking to discover arts and entertainment events and information across the city. 

Kitchener Takes the Stage highlights artists on the rise, while offering audiences an intimate concert experience in one of the City’s premier venues.  

Taking place Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts, the event features an evening of performances from standout local and regional talent, including: 

  • A collaborative set bringing together emerging voices and established musicians from across the local music scene, led by Matt Weidinger and Friends.  

Doors open at 6 p.m. with the event beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $49 + applicable fees. 

Attendees can expect a dynamic night of connection, discovery, and high-quality live performance. More than a concert, Kitchener Takes the Stage reflects the City of Kitchener’s continued investment in its creative sector and serves as a celebration of Kitchener as Canada’s Emerging Music City.
