Kitchener in Bloom kicks off with event at Kitchener Market

Get ready for another vibrant spring season! The Kitchener in Bloom program is back to celebrate the efforts of residents who contribute to making our city a more beautiful, sustainable, and greener place to live.

Join us on Saturday, April 27, from 10 am to noon for the launch of this year's Kitchener in Bloom program on the Piazza at the Kitchener Market. If it’s raining, visit us at the upper Market. Join us in

celebrating the vibrant spirit of our community and the beauty of local gardens:

  • learn about the Kitchener in Bloom garden recognition program,
  • pick up a free tomato seedling (while supplies last),
  • participate in a garden-themed craft for kids (while supplies last),
  • enjoy live music with Jessie T,
  • say hello to the Kitchener in Bloom volunteers,
  • visit the City’s LoveMyHood booth and learn about resident-led greening initiatives.

The Kitchener in Bloom program fosters community pride and connection. We are looking for all different types of gardens to recognize the beauty of Kitchener. The Kitchener in Bloom recognition program runs until September 15, 2024. It is as easy as submitting a garden’s address through an online form at kitchener.ca/Bloom.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, join us in recognizing the efforts of our community members, and let’s make Kitchener greener than ever.

Visit kitchener.ca/Bloom for more information about the program.

Land acknowledgement

The City of Kitchener is situated on the traditional territory of the Chonnonton, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee Peoples. We recognize our responsibility to act as stewards for the land and honour the original caretakers who came before us. Our community is enriched by the enduring knowledge and deep-rooted traditions of the diverse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples who live in Kitchener today.
