Kitchener Fire Department: Major incident report – September 27, 2026
At approximately 8:00 a.m., Kitchener Fire crews responded to a reported structure fire at a detached residential dwelling on Village Road. Upon arrival, crews encountered a fire that had extended into the attic space of the home and worked quickly to bring the incident under control.
The fire caused significant structural damage to the residence, resulting in the displacement of the occupants. Damage is currently estimated between $500,000 and $750,000.
There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters, and the fire is not considered suspicious.
