Kitchener Fire Department: Major incident report – May 24, 2026

Shortly after 6:27 a.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026, Kitchener Fire responded to a residential structure fire on Notchwood Court.

 

Upon arrival, crews observed extensive fire on the exterior of the building, with flames having breached into the second floor and attic area. Firefighters worked to bring the fire under control and conducted interior searches of the home.

 

The fire has since been extinguished. Damage is estimated between $400,000 and $500,000. Due to significant structural and smoke damage, the home is considered uninhabitable.
