Kitchener Fire Department: Major incident report – May 1, 2026 (Stirling Avenue South)
Kitchener Fire crews responded to a structure fire at a residential property on Stirling Avenue South at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 1.
The fire appears to have originated in the bedroom on a mattress. The suspected source of the fire was charging electrical devices.
No injuries were reported from occupants or crews on scene.
The fires is not currently deemed suspicious. Damage is estimated at $100,000 with minor water damage to two units below the fire unit. The building was checked for air quality and there are not structural concerns with the building at this time.
