Kitchener Fire Department: Major incident report – March 24, 2026 (Oldfield Drive)
This afternoon, Kitchener Fire crews responded to a house fire at Oldfield Drive in the Station 3 area, near Ottawa Street North and Lackner Boulevard. The call came in just before 5 p.m., with reports of a fire in the attached garage of a single-family detached backsplit home.
Five trucks attended the scene and the fire has since been extinguished.
The garage sustained extensive damage, and the fire breached into the attic space of the home. Two occupants experienced minor burns and smoke inhalation. One resident has been transported to a local hospital as a precaution. There are no firefighter injuries to report.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious. Damage estimates are approximately $300,000 to the building.
