Kitchener Fire Department: Major incident report – March 2, 2026

At 11:15 p.m. on March 2, 2026, Kitchener Fire responded to a fire at a single-family home on Denlow Street. The fire appears to have started in the attic with the cause being an electrical fire. 

Five trucks responded to the call. One resident was treated for minor injuries on site but was not taken to hospital. There are no fire fighter injuries.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious. There are structural damage concerns to the home and damage is estimated at $50,000. 

The residents were alerted to the fire by the property’s smoke alarms. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms save lives. Find more ways to keep your home safe on the City of Kitchener’s website.
