Kitchener Fire Department: Major incident report – July 12, 2026
Kitchener Fire crews responded to a fire at the Kitchener Market at 1:02 am on July 12, 2026.
The fire appears to have originated within a vendor stall. The suspected source of the fire is unknown but foul play is not suspected. There are no reported injuries.
The fire is not under investigation and the scene has been turned to the City of Kitchener. Damage is estimated at approximately $50,000. There are no structural concerns with the building at this time.
Crews are assessing the damage and beginning clean up. Updates on operations of the Kitchener Market will be provided as available. Teams are working diligently to safely restore the facility.
