Kitchener Fire Department: Major incident report – January 9, 2026

Late Friday evening, Kitchener Fire crews responded to a fire in a multi-occupant home on Queen Street S. 

The fire was contained to one room. Five trucks responded and quickly extinguished the fire. Occupants have returned to the property. There are no civilian or firefighter injuries.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious, and the cause was determined to be accidental. Damage estimates are not available.
