Kitchener Fire Department: Major incident report – April 20 (Strasburg Rd.)
Kitchener Fire crews responded to a fire at a commercial property on Strasburg Rd at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20.
The fire appears to have originated in an oven and extended through the ventilation system.
The fire is not currently deemed suspicious. Damage is estimated at approximately $50,000. There are no structural concerns with the building at this time.
No injuries of staff or firefighters were reported.Traffic and the GRT were also impacted due to the closure of Strasburg Rd for approximately one hour (required for hydrant access). The road has since been reopened.
