Kitchener Council has approved four-year deal with IBEW 636

KITCHENER – Kitchener City Council has approved a four-year deal between the City and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 636.

The agreement runs from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2029 and includes wage adjustments as follows:

  • One-time market wage adjustment for identified positions.
  • Effective April 1, 2025 – 3.75%
  • Effective April 1, 2026 – 3.25%
  • Effective April 1, 2027 – 3.0%
  • Effective April 1, 2028 – 3.0%

IBEW 636 represents approximately 63 Kitchener’s gas and water utilities employees.

The previous contract expired on March 31, 2025.
