Kitchener Council approves four-year deal with IBEW 636

Council approved an agreement between the City and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 636. The deal was ratified by union members on Jan. 10, 2022. IBEW 636 represents 63 full time utility workers.

The four-year collective agreement runs April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2025 and takes effect immediately. It provides a salary adjustment of:

  • Effective April 1, 2021 – 2.25%
  • Effective April 1, 2022 – 1.90%
  • Effective April 1, 2023 – 1.95%
  • Effective April 1, 2024 – 2.00%

The previous contract expired March 31, 2021.
