Join our Mayor’s Advisory Council for Kitchener Seniors (MACKS)

The City of Kitchener is recruiting residents aged 55 and older for the Mayor’s Advisory Council for Kitchener Seniors (MACKS). MACKS volunteers are encouraged to share their perspectives on the impact of city programs, services, strategies, and policies to help older adults live well and age well in the community.     

As a member of MACKS, you will engage with staff and Council representatives on municipal issues impacting older adults in Kitchener, help identify community priorities, and connect with community members to engage in and provide feedback on age-friendly initiatives in Kitchener. 

To apply to be part of the advisory council, you must: 

  • be a Kitchener resident 

  • be 55 years of age or older 

  • be available to attend meetings held on the first Thursday morning of each month (from September to June) 

  • contribute 6 to 8 hours per month to support committee work 

  • commit to serving a three-year term 

The deadline for applying is July 10, 2026
