City of Kitchener to host community ride for Winter Bike to Work Day
Winter is a great time to get out on your bike. The City of Kitchener has invested in year-round cycling infrastructure – let’s get out and use it!
Winter Bike to Work Day is Friday, Feb. 14. The ride will begin on Otto Street in front of the Centre in the Square and will start at 7:30 a.m. The ride should take about 15 minutes and uses Kitchener’s new separated bike lanes and trails, making it comfortable for people who are new to winter cycling.
We’ll ride north on Otto Street to Margaret Avenue on the new multi-use path up to Breithaupt Street. We’ll follow Breithaupt Street to Duke Street. Using the new separated bike lane on Duke Street, we’ll move on to Water Street. Then we’ll travel down Water Street to King Street where we will stop at Café Pyrus for warm beverages.
No registration required – just bring your bike and dress for the weather. We hope to see you there!
