City of Kitchener seeking artwork for downtown street banners
The City of Kitchener is seeking proposals from local artists for artwork or designs for a series of vinyl light pole banners to be hung in downtown Kitchener.
Applications are being accepted from Waterloo Region artists to support our goal of building and promoting the development of visual arts in our area. Submitted artworks or designs should embody the vision and guiding principles for downtown Kitchener while celebrating its vibrancy, liveliness and the connections residents have with the city’s core. Submitted pieces can fit either an all-season theme, a winter theme or both. Up to 12 works will be selected and displayed over the next three years.
Interested artists can apply using the City’s online submission form until Friday, September 5 by 5 p.m. Proposals will be juried by volunteer members of the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee and Downtown Advisory Committee. Successful artists will be compensated for each selected artwork or design.
