City of Kitchener holiday activities and facility hours update

Celebrate the season with family-friendly activities brought to you by the City of Kitchener. 

Activities available during the holiday period: 

  • Walking track at Activa Sportsplex (closed December 25 and 26) 

  • Kitchener Market food hall and farmers’ market (modified hours) 

  • Kitchener Rangers and KW Titans games at The Aud 

  • Walk, hike or bike on 125+ km of trails 

  • Snowshoe or cross-country ski at a park like Huron Natural Area or Rockway and  Doon golf courses 

Celebrate the new year with two free events: 

  • Kitchener’s New Year’s Night of Legends 
    December 31, 7 p.m. to midnight, Carl Zehr Square 
    Free live concert with 2000’s pop hits, Shania Twain tribute, skating and more. 

  • New Year’s Levee 
    January 4, 11 to 4 p.m., Kitchener City Hall 
    Family-friendly fun with games, live music, magic, refreshments and more. 


Holiday hours 

Many City of Kitchener services and facilities will close or have modified hours from December 22 to January 4 due to the Christmas and New Year holidays. 

Kitchener City Hall will remain open every day during the holidays but in-person services are affected. Other City facilities, including community centres, arenas, pools and the Kitchener Market will have modified hours during the holiday period, including some closures.
