Celebrate Canada Day for FREE in the heart of Downtown Kitchener

This Canada Day, mark your calendars for a community celebration with something for everyone to enjoy! The City of Kitchener is hosting its annual Canada Day celebration on Monday, July 1 from 2 to 11 p.m. in Downtown Kitchener. Spend the whole afternoon or add on to your weekend of fun to keep the party rolling with free live music, food, drinks and a fireworks display.

This year’s festivities are headlined by Canadian Music Hall of Famers April Wine. You’ll be tapping your toes to classic hits like Just Between You and Me, Roller, I Like to Rock and many more. Our outdoor stage will also feature Danny Michel with Romeo Sex Fighter – the first time these two local favourites have joined forces – and Hamilton-based Americana and folk group, The Redhill Valleys. Sydney Jones and Living Room for Small will kick off our day of music starting at 2:30 p.m.

While you enjoy the concert, sample fresh Ontario flavours from our local food trucks or stay cool with a drink from our licensed bar area. Plan to stay until the end, because a dazzling fireworks display will light up the sky above City Hall to end the weekend.
