Bring an idea for a neighbourhood project to life with Kitchener’s Love My Hood grant

Do you have an idea for a great neighbourhood project? The LoveMyHood Matching Grant supports projects that bring neighbours together, build connections, and create new programs and spaces that make Kitchener a great community. Past projects include little libraries, community gardens, greening projects, neighbourhood pop-up markets, street parties, art murals, neighbourhood programs and more.

The City of Kitchener’s LoveMyHood Matching Grant provides one-time funding for resident-led projects and neighbourhood initiatives of up to $30,000, depending on location and scope of the project. The second grant intake for this year is due this Thursday, June 11, 2026

Before you submit your application, connect with the Neighbourhood Development Office at lovemyhood@kitchener.ca for assistance. Our project coordinators will guide you through the grant process, share essential information & best practices, help you navigate obstacles, build a budget, and advocate for your project every step of the way, helping you to take your project idea from dream to reality!

The LoveMyHood Matching Grant funding is awarded three times per year, and the Grant Selection Committee will review applications after each intake. If you need some more time to present your idea, there will be one more grant intake this year due by Thursday, October 29, 2026.
