Applications now open for 2022 Artist in Residence program
The City of Kitchener has partnered with Textile Magazine to invite artists to apply for the 2022 artist in residence program. The annual artist in residence program supports innovation and excellence in the arts. Each year, a new artist holds the position, creating public artwork and showcasing the diversity of the Waterloo Region. This year, Textile Magazine will provide mentorship, access to a broader community network, and publication opportunities for the selected artist.
Local artists with a connection to Waterloo Region, working across artistic mediums, including the literary arts, visual arts, performing arts, and more are all welcome to apply. The City is looking for an artist for a year-long residency that can directly engage with the residents of the Waterloo Region community. The selected artist will have an opportunity to collaborate with the community while advancing their artistic practice.
How to apply:
The City encourages applications from all artists including Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+ identified, people with disabilities, religious minorities, and the intersections of those identities. Interested applicants have until Monday, May 30, 2022, at midnight, to submit their online application.
