2025 nominations are now open for Kitchener Senior of the Year Award

Do you know an outstanding older adult who makes Kitchener a better place? Someone who generously volunteers their time to help in the broader community or is a good neighbour? Nominate them for the 2025 Senior of the Year Award.

Each year, the City of Kitchener is proud to celebrate the remarkable community contributions of older adults, ages 65 and older. The Senior of the Year Award is part of an annual provincial recognition program that gives us the opportunity to honour an outstanding Kitchener citizen who has enriched the social, cultural, or civic life of our community.

To be eligible for this recognition, a nominee:

  • must be 65 years of age or older and a current resident of Kitchener
  • has made volunteer contributions to better the Kitchener community
  • gives permission to be nominated and has verified the information submitted is correct
  • is not a current member of the Mayor’s Advisory Council for Kitchener Seniors (MACKS)
  • is not a previous recipient of the award

Nominations can be submitted online. Paper copies are also available at all community centres in Kitchener. Nomination deadline is March 31, 2025.
