Community centres have reopened for select programs

Register for programming online through ACTIVENet.

The Region of Waterloo passed a bylaw requiring the wearing of face coverings in enclosed public spaces that is now in effect. You can learn more about the bylaw and what it means for you on the Region of Waterloo site.

Beginning Friday, Nov. 27, the Province has provided updated guidance on the limits for recreation facilities and community centres. These changes include:

  • Indoor capacity of 10 program participants per room/space, provided physical distancing can be maintained. 
  • Outdoor capacity of 25 program participants per space, provided physical distancing can be maintained.

Williamsburg Community Centre has reopened for select registered programs.  

Williamsburg Community Centre (WCC) is located at 1187 Fischer Hallman Rd., Building 600, Suite 620, in the Williamsburg Town Centre, next to Max Becker Common. Public transit is within walking distance of our front door. 

The centre, which has been serving the surrounding community since 2009, is fully accessible and features a multipurpose room that's used for a variety of programs and activities.

Safety measures 
Residents can expect a different experience when visiting as the following safety measures remain in effect:
  • Access control: Public access will be controlled and limited to patrons who are registered for programs or have scheduled activities such as the use of public access computers or use of the gymnasium through the Book your Bubble program. Visitors are asked to come prepared to participate in scheduled programming as access to changerooms will be unavailable.
  • Pre-screening questions: Visitors will be required to successfully complete a series of health screening questions prior to entry.
  • Masks and face coverings: Visitors are required to wear masks upon entry and while in common areas such as lobbies, hallways or washrooms.
  • Physical distancing: Visitors are always required to maintain a physical distance of at least 2-meters from other patrons.

Residents are asked to come prepared to participate in scheduled programming as access to washrooms and changerooms will be unavailable.

The Williamsburg Community Centre is proud to partner with local volunteers and organizations to provide programs and information to our community. 

 

Drop and Dash Half Day Camp for Homeschoolers Ages 5 to 8 years

 

Monday, Oct. 26 from 9:30 a.m. to noon

Brighten your child's day with this fun and interactive camp.  This half day camp will give children a chance to participate in fun physical distancing games, crafts and activities with other children their age in a safe and supervised setting and give parents and guardians a chance to do your own thing!

Rent a Camp Counsellor Ages 4 to 11 years

Tuesdays and/or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon or 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. starting Oct. 13

Rent a camp counsellor is a creative option that allows you to keep your children in their 'social bubble' while providing them with a fun and interactive experience in a supervised and inclusive setting that adapts to the COVID-19 regulations.  

Sign up a group of up to ten children and let our staff entertain them for two fun filled hours!  All resources and supplies provided!  A great option for a special occasion, birthday or celebration!

Outdoor programs will launch with a registration date of Sept. 7, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.

Williamsburg Community Centre is an ideal setting for your next meeting or special event.

The multipurpose room is perfect for a birthday party or bridal shower for up to 55 people.

Plenty of parking is also available.

Centre hours

The Williamsburg Community Centre will reopen in a limited capacity on Oct. 19, 2020.  Please note that safety measures such as pre-screening and physical distancing will be in place.  At this time, the centre will only be open for participants who are registered in programs and by appointment only.  If you would like more information, please call the Williamsburg Community Centre at 519-741-2240.

Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday: CLOSED

 

The centre is available for rent outside of regular hours, including Sundays.
