Kingsdale Community Centre is located at 72 Wilson Avenue. Our 16,500 square foot facility is fully accessible with five spacious program rooms, a large gymnasium with vaulted wood ceilings and an adjoining commercial kitchen and bar area. Our centre is equipped to offer a wide range of programs and activities.

 Programs

 City Programming
Registration for winter programming will be available online or in person starting Nov. 20 at 8:30 a.m. and program information can be found in the latest edition of Active Kitchener.
  • Youth Drop-In for youth aged 12-17 will run Thursdays, Jan. 10 until May 30 from 7-9:30 p.m.
  • Yoga and Stretch senior fitness class from Rockway Community Centre runs April 2 to June 25.
  • Oil Painting is cancelled.
  • Senior Cards Drop-In runs Mondays for Euchre and Tuesdays for Solo. $1.00 per visit. Runs April 1 to June 25
 KNA Programs
The KNA runs the following types of programs at the centre:
  • Fitness programs
  • Children's dance and sports
  • Educational programs
  • Special events 
  • Recreation and leisure programs for all ages

Drop-in Programs:

  • Pickleball Drop-in runs April 4 tp June 27 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Tuesday Pickleball is no longer running.  $2 per play. See KNA Spring newsletter for dates, times and cancellations.
  • Indoor Bocce will run April 4 to June 27. 50 cents per play.

 Partner Programs
We partner with the House of Friendship to offer the following services at our centre:
  • Support for families with children
  • Social and educational programs
  • Community Food Distribution Program:

Kingsdale Community Food Program is an appointment based food distribution for families in need to receive fresh produce, non-perishable goods and other foods as available once every two weeks.  Patrons are served individually in the Food Room.  New clients must book an appointment for intake.  To make an appointment, please call 519-748-6463 x 224 or email kingsdale@houseoffriendship.org

Appointment times are:

Tuesday 6:30-8 p.m.

Wednesday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Thursday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Friday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

KNA FREE Crafts and Matinee Movie

May 31, 2019

Crafts at 11:30 a.m. and movie begins at 1 p.m.

Parents and kids come and join us in making some fun summer themed crafts and participate together in Minute to Win It games.  All ages welcome. No registration required. 

Bring a lunch or purchase lunch here.  $1 for a pizza slice OR $2 for a beverage, popcorn & pizza slice.  

Then stay with your family for the movie at 1pm in the gym! Don’t forget a pillow or blanket. Open to all ages and no registration required. Children under 12 must be with an adult for the movie.

 

The Variety Show

Tuesday May 28, 2019

Doors Open at 6:30 p.m.  Show begins at 7 p.m.

The House of Friendship is running a fundraiser Talent Show organized by the Girls in Leadership and Boys in Leadershop programs.  

Tickets: Adults $5 Youth: (6-12) $2 and Family (4+memebers) $12  Children under 5 are free.  child care by donation.

Proceeds will go towards It's My Turn: a micro-finance project that supports single mothers starting businesses in Uganda, Africa.  

 

5th Annual Neighbour's Day 2019

mark your calendars for Neighbours Day.  Events will happen all across the city.  Join us at Kingsdale for a free BBQ, crafts, games, henna and a garage sale.  More details to follow

PD Day Special:  End of School Celebration

Friday June 28, 2019

Time to be determined.  Details to follow. 

Come celebrate the end of the school year with an afternoon of fun with Minute to Win It games and activities for kids.  Snacks will be available. This is a free event but registration is required. Please see front desk to register. Children under 12 must be with an adult.

Rentals

Kingsdale Community Centre is available to rent for meetings and special events. The centre is fully accessible and conveniently located within close walking distance of public transit. Visit Grand River Transit for route information and schedules.

Kingsdale Community Centre hours of operation: May to June 30

 

Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (During program sessions) Other times: closed

Sunday: closed

 

The centre may be available for rent outside of regular operating hours.

 

Victoria Day:

Centre will be closed on Monday May 20.

 

Holidays and closures:

The centre will be closed on the following dates:   Monday May 20 (Victoria Day),  Monday July 1 (Canada Day), Monday August 5 (Civic Holiday) and Monday September 2 (Labour Day).
