Located next to a park at 100 Rittenhouse Rd., Country Hills Community Centre has been a gathering place for the surrounding community since 1997. 

The centre features a double gymnasium, an outdoor sports pad and accessible playground, and three meeting rooms that are equipped to offer a variety of programs and activities.

Centre hours

Centre hours during programming (April 1 - June 30):

Monday to Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Wednesday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

The centre will be closed on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, June 31 for Canada Day.

 

Centre hours in the summer (July 1 - September 4):

Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The centre is closed Satudays and Sundays, but is available to rent.

Newsletter editor/publisher volunteer opportunity available

The Alpine Community Neighbourhood Association (ACNA) serves the area bound by Block Line Road, Homer Watson Boulevard, Strasburg Road and Ottawa Street.

The ACNA is looking for a volunteer who can create content and format a neighbourhood association newsletter. Our newsletters are about six pages and distributed up to four times a year - in March, May, September and December. Please contact the Country Hills Community Centre for more information.

 

Country Hills Recreation Association volunteer opportunities

Are you looking for an opportunity to gain employable skills and put your knowledge and experience to work? The Country Hills Recreation Association (CHRA) is looking for volunteers in the following areas:

  • Special events team
  • Website/social media team
  • Assisting in children/youth recreational programming (specific to a student looking for community service hours)

You choose how much time you would like to participate; our opportunities are designed to be flexible and fit into any lifestyle. For a list of volunteer opportunities, please contact the Country Hills Community Centre.

Programs

CHRA programming

Visit Active Net to request your personal identification number (PIN) and individual ID code for each family member; then, register for the programs you're interested in online. Or, visit the centre to create your account and register in person. Effective March 1, you must bring your PIN and individual ID code to the centre for in-person registrations or to access your account information. If you don't have your PIN, we will require photo ID to verify your information.

Community partners programming

The Country Hills Community Centre and the CHRA partner with local organizations to provide programs and information to our community. All programs and information sessions are free to attend (unless otherwise noted) and take place at our Community Centre.

Available for rent

The centre features a 4,800 square-foot multipurpose room with a fully accessible stage, making the space suitable for many types of events. With the ability to accommodate up to 300 people, the facility also has three smaller meeting rooms, and full kitchen and bar facilities suitable for cooking and serving. The centre offers plenty of free parking.
