Secure bike parking

The City of Kitchener offers secure bicycle parking facilities throughout the downtown core. Secure bicycle parking facilities are a key ingredient in encouraging cycling and greatly improve protection from theft, vandalism and inclement weather.

Interested residents can register with the city and obtain access to the secured areas where they can lock their bike. Simply complete the registration form either online or in person and follow the instructions provided.

The secure bicycle facilities are:

  • Located within parking garage facilities that are routinely monitored;
  • Made from iron or chain link fencing;
  • Locked with a security access card system;
  • Equipped with standard bicycle racks;
  • Free to use (requires a $10 refundable deposit for the access card).
