Parking options

Does the thought of finding a parking spot in downtown Kitchener have you going around in circles? Don't worry - we have you covered!

Knowing how important having ample parking options is to you - especially downtown, we've invested significant resources into expanding our network of indoor and outdoor parking facilities over the past few years.

This work has amounted to:

  • More than 3,400 off-street parking spaces;
  • More than 300 free, two-hour on-street parking spaces;
  • 17 municipal surface lots;
  • Five fully automated parking structures, located at:
    • City Hall
    • Civic District, next to the Kitchener Public Library (main branch) on Queen Street North
    • Kitchener Market
    • Charles and Benton streets
    • Duke and Ontario streets

Our parking map shows you all of our facilities - each offering a safe, affordable and accessible parking experience.

You can review our parking location details guide to find options located near your destination. For more information, including rates, addresses, availability and hours of operation, open each parking location.

Some other helpful resources to consider reviewing before parking downtown:

  • Street map showing our free, downtown on-street parking spaces. In order to provide convenient, two-hour free parking spaces available to all visitors, no re-parking is permitted within five (5) hours of initial parking in these spaces.
  • Parking regulations for streets and local lots

To request a monthly parking permit, please complete the online form.  If you have any questions, call Ann Tran, Parking Administrator at 519-741-2200 ext. 7151.
