What to see and do

Kitchener offers a never-ending list of things to see and do, no matter what the season, or whether you're young, or still young-at-heart.

Each year, we celebrate Kitchener's historic German roots in grand scale during Oktoberfest, the largest Bavarian festival outside of Munich, Germany. Here, as many as 700,000 people from all over the globe come to share in all things German.

This is just one of the many major festivals and special events we host throughout the year, complementing the long list of attractions that can be found across our community.

For more than a century, the Kitchener Market has been a traditional Saturday outing for visitors and residents. In visiting the market, you'll discover an array of restaurant vendors serving ethnically diverse meals during the week and our thriving farmers' market on Saturday.

If you prefer the outdoors, Kitchener offers more than an abundance of parkland and 100 kilometres of community trails that are suitable for walking, jogging, bicycling, or even bird watching throughout the year.

As well, two picturesque, municipally-owned 18-hole golf courses - Doon Valley and Rockway - offer superior playing conditions and a full range of services from spring through fall.

In winter, we offer skating on the outdoor rink in front of city hall -- as well on community rinks built and maintained in many of our neighbourhoods.

No matter what time of the year, you can always check out what's happening at The Aud - southwestern Ontario's premier sports and entertainment venue and home to the Kitchener Rangers Junior A hockey team.

For entertainment and enjoyment, culture and cuisine, history and hospitality, let Kitchener welcome you with a personal touch.
