Join us at the Living Well Expo on Saturday, May 26, 2018, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Kitchener City Hall Rotunda (FREE parking in city hall parking garage)

At this free event, you will find:

  • More than 50 exhibitors with information about programs, activities and services that support healthy, active living for aging adults;
  • Demonstrations and speakers, including the presentation of the Kitchener Senior of the Year Award (11 a.m. in council chambers);
  • Free refreshments and parking;
  • Free tote bag for the first 300 attendees.

Join Mayor Berry Vrbanovic and local dignitaries for the announcement and presentation of Kitchener's Senior of the Year Award recipient. Nominees include:

Take a break in the Rotunda and listen to the beautiful music of the Rockway Entertainers Mixed Senior Chorus.  This energetic group will have to singing along to familiar favourites!

Grand River Transit – Keeping You Moving! (Conestoga Room main floor)

Learn about Grand River Transit (GRT) programs, services and upcoming changes to the system. GRT and ION staff will be present with updates to help keep you moving around the Region.

Normal Aging Versus Dementia - Solutions To Help Brains Stay Healthy (Conestoga Room main floor)

 Almost 40 per cent of people over the age of 65 experience some form of memory loss. Age-associated memory impairment and dementia can be told apart in a number of ways. Learn about cognitive decline and how it can be managed using simple techniques in the comfort of your home. This fun and interactive presentation will include brain     games for you to try!

Video Relay Service Workshop

While this workshop is not part of the Living Well Expo, it is happening the same day in Council Chambers from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. and may be of interest to older adults.

Video relay service, or VRS, is a service that enables people to have video conversations over the Internet. SRV Canada VRS is offered in Canada and is available in four languages, ASL/English and LSQ/French. It brings Deaf or Hard of Hearing people closer together with employers, friends, family, and service providers. With SRV Canada VRS, everyone can communicate simply and effectively. Whether it’s a grandmother connecting with her grandchild, a friend calling to catch up, or someone placing a call to learn about a new government service, SRV Canada VRS empowers all Canadians to connect and share in powerful ways.

  • Ask questions, and get technical support
